Chelsea Fc Target Radamel Falcao Insists He Is Happy At Atletico Madrid
Radamel Falcao insists he is happy at Atletico Madrid despite continued interest from Chelsea.
Falcao has been on Chelsea’s radar for some time and manager Roberto Di Matteo is believed to have the striker on his shortlist of targets as he looks to replace Didier Drogba, who left the club at the end of last season.
But the Colombia international has indicated he has no plans to leave Atletico before the the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
“Last year was a very positive year as I took an important career step to arrive in the Spanish league,” Falcao told Abola.
“I am very happy to be here, and [I] hope the next season will be even better.
“Our work from the last campaign will help us a lot going forward. We will take this season game by game, starting from against Levante. By getting good results against them and then Athletic in the league, we enter the game against Chelsea in the best of shapes.
“The Super Cup is a title that adds a lot of prestige to a player. I did not manage to play last year’s edition with Porto, and am relishing the opportunity against Chelsea.”
Manchester United had also been linked with the 26-year-old prior to completing the signing of Robin van Persie, while neighbours Man City have also shown interest.
