Erik ten Hag is keen for Antony’s reunion

Published on

The task for incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag looks monumental. United, who are in serious danger of finishing seventh in the Premier League this year have a host of issues that the Dutchman will need to quickly sort.

It’s clear that the current United squad is in need of a major overhaul with numerous players expected to come in and out of the club this summer.

One player that ten Hag reportedly has his eye on is Antony. Antony currently plays under ten Hag at Ajax and according to reports, ten Hag wants to bring the skillful Brazilian with him to Old Trafford.

At just 22, Antony has had a breakout season and has become one of the standout performers in the Dutch Eredivise.

Antony has found the back of the net twelve times this season which includes two goals in this season’s Champions League. He has also scored two goals for Brazil.

The move would make complete sense from United’s point of view as the player would be familiar with both ten Hag’s tactics and system. However, it won’t be as easy as that.

With United missing out on next season’s Champions League, Antony will be coveted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Whether Antony would be happy to follow his current boss to Old Trafford will be interesting to monitor.
