Fernandinho looking to sign off City career in style

Fernandinho eyeing another Premier League title

Despite not being officially confirmed by either Fernandinho or Manchester City it looks like Manchester City’s match against Aston Villa will be Fernandinho’s last for the club.

An integral part of City’s revolution, Fernandinho will be hoping to sign off on his Manchester City in style with yet another Premier League title.

Now at 37, it’s clear that Fernandinho’s best days are behind him and his role of mostly being assigned to the bench is something that clearly doesn’t appeal.

Signed for the club back in 2013 from Ukrainian side Shakhtar, Fernandinho’s time at City has seen him rack over 250 Premier League appearances. The Brazilian has enjoyed a glittering career winning four Premier League titles, one FA Cup and six league cup victories.

Fernandinho will be an incredibly difficult player to replace. A leader on and off the pitch, Pep Guardiola has repeatedly stated what a good player the Brazilian is to have around the club.

With Fernandinho likely to finish his career back in Brazil, it’s reported that City have their eyes on Leeds and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips as Fernandinho’s replacement. With City already spending a vast amount on Erling Haaland it remains to be seen how much they will be willing to capture Phillips for.
