Following the conclusion of the Serie A season, the owners of Inter Milan delivered their end of season statement. In their statement, they spoke about the success that Inter has achieved this season as well as their hopes and aspirations for next season.
Whilst the Inter hierarchy will want the side to reclaim the Scudetto title and improve on their showing in Europe. The financial position of the club however is still delicate.
It looks highly likely that Ivan Perisic will leave the club and both the futures of Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni also look unclear. One man who could stay at Inter this summer could be star forward Lautaro Martinez.
Martinez has been the subject of some intense transfer rumours with a host of clubs from La Liga and the Premier League reportedly interested in the Argentine’s signature.
After the owners’ statement, reports in Italy stated that the Inter owners had given assurances to manager Simone Inzaghi that Martinez would not be sold.
Martinez who only signed a new deal with the club last summer has made no secret that he wishes to remain with the Italian side. Martinez was in red hot form last season, scoring 21 league goals in total.
With Inter wanting to reclaim their title back from rivals AC Milan next season, they will need Martinez and his goals if they are to bridge the gap.
