Pedro Trogli, the current coach of Argentine side San Lorenzo de Almagro, has received an ultimatum from the club’s leadership in the event of not winning their next match in the Copa Argentina.
Negotiations with Panama’s current coach, Denmark’s Thomas Christiansen, are ongoing and members of Panama’s Football Federation are considering alternative options.
The four-time champion with CD Olimpia, Troglio, seems to be an interesting option for Panama. The Argentine coach is currently going through a poor run with San Lorenzo, where they have won once in nine matches with San Lorenzo. Apparently, his last chance to keep his current job will depend on a good result on Thursday night against Racing de Córdoba in the Copa Argentina. San Lorenzo has an obligation to win against a third division team, and the Copa Argentina may be the only competition where San Lorenzo have a chance of winning.
While he has not yet received a formal offer, Troglio mentioned that Panama’s Football Federation had contacted his representative to discuss the potential offer. In the event of being fired from San Lorenzo, his chances of directing Panama would increase considerably.
