Lautoro Martinez’s strike helps keep zinger’s Serie A fate in their own hands

Lautoro Martinez moved up to third in the Serie A goal-scoring charts thanks to his 16th goal of the season in Inter’s 3-1 win over Roma.

Inter’s victory keeps them in second place in the table, just two points behind city rivals AC Milan but crucially Inter has played one game less. If Inter can win all of their remaining matches they know the Serie A title will be theirs for a second successive season.

After experiencing a bit of a goal drought earlier this year, Martinez has found his shooting boots at a truly vital part of the season. Martinez’s strike was his 4th goal in his last three appearances, and he has helped his team win their last five matches in all competitions.

It could be a bittersweet summer for the Argentine forward as the rumors continue to intensify over a potential summer move away from the club.

Inter are still in a precarious financial position and must sell before they can buy. Martinez could be an asset the Inter hierarchy decides to cash in on.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly incredibly interested in securing the front man’s services as are Tottenham in the Premier League.

Interesting few months await.
