Man Utd Target Angelo Henriquez To Snub Man City And Undergo Mufc Medical

Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Angelo Henriquez, with the Universidad de Chile striker reportedly set to undergo a medical.

According to Sky Sports, the 18-year-old, who is already in Europe with Chile’s youth squad, will undergo a medical with United in the next 24 hours.

However, rivals Manchester City are believed to also been keen on signing the teenage forward.

According to reports on Tuesday morning, City boss Roberto Mancini is looking to push through a deal for Henriquez – despite a verbal agreement with the Red Devils already in place (see Related Articles).

Reports in Chile, however, suggest a move to Old Trafford is close.

When asked about Henriquez, Universidad de Chile’s assistant manager Sebastian Beccacece told Radio ADN: “No doubt he is a very useful player, with a good goalscoring talent.”

And hinting that the club were preparing to sell Henriquez, he added: “But we have to count on the players that we have available, not the ones that aren’t available.”

United are also trying to push through a deal for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.
