Man Utd target Neymar not for sale insist FC Barcelona

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu says his club have no intention of selling Neymar before the transfer window closes.

Neymar, who has a buyout clause of a reported €190million in his Camp Nou contract, has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United, but Bartomeu insists that no deal is in the offing.

He told Catalunya Radio: “Those are just rumours and what people write, but there is nothing to it. Neymar is happy at Barca, we don’t want Neymar to leave at all.

“He is a young player that has an international football projection above the norm. He has helped us a lot in our recent successes.

“In a few months’ time we will discuss his contract extension as he has three years left on his current deal.

“We want him to stay for many years, three, five, 10 or even 15 years more with us.”

Neymar, 23, is part of a superlative attacking trio at Barca which also features Lionel Messi and Luis Saurez, with the three forwards helping the Catalans to a La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble last season.

The Brazilian scored nearly 30 goals in all competitions last term, having joined the Spanish giants in the summer of 2103 from Santos.

Neymar is already the fifth highest scorer in history for the Brazil national team, having netted 44 goals in 65 appearances for the Selecao.
