Man Utd vs. WBA takes place this afternoon in the Premier League.

The game, which takes place at Old Trafford, is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT.

Speaking ahead of the game, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has appealed to supporters not to put pressure on his players by booing during games.

Van Gaal’s decision to replace Anthony Martial with Marouane Fellaini during Tuesday’s 1-0 win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League was met with a chorus of boos around Old Trafford.

Shortly afterward there were chants of ‘attack, attack’ before captain Wayne Rooney eventually ended a near 400-minute goal drought for United with a headed winner.

Van Gaal says it is counter-productive if the fans are booing, and he wants them to vent any frustration directly at him, instead of at the players.

“The supporters have to support the players otherwise they make it very difficult for the players to play at Old Trafford,” the Dutchman said.

“I think we have to play for the fans. But as I have already said the fans also have to understand the game and the resistance of our opponents. They also have to analyse that.

“I can only advise the fans to criticise the manager and not the players. It’s very difficult to play for Manchester United with a lot of pressure and if you can taste that in Old Trafford because of all the yelling, then it’s not good for my players.”
