Roma vs Man Utd takes place tonight in the 2014 International Champions Cup.

The game takes place at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver and is scheduled to start at 21:00 BST.

Preview:

Louis van Gaal was a happy camper after his first game in charge of Red Devils resulted in a 7-0 thumping of LA Galaxy on Wednesday night.

United kicked off their pre-season tour of the United States in style in Pasadena with goals from Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney (2), Reece James (2) and Ashley Young (2).

Van Gaal was not only impressed with the scoreline and his side’s style of play, but also at how they adapted to his trademark 3-5-2 system.

He told the club’s official website: “It is fantastic how they have performed today. When you see us train, you can expect something but not 7-0. It was a surprise, but they were beautiful goals and beautiful attacks.

“The result always matters. With such a result you get confidence. We introduced a new system and played twice on the training pitch, 11 v 11. It is not very much, but the boys are willing to pick up the information. Last week, 10 players who played tonight were not even at our training complex.

“When I see my team playing a new system, it is better to win 7-0 than to lose because the players will then doubt the system. But now I don’t have that problem.”

The match was also notable for Ander Herrera’s man of the match debut performance in a three-man midfield alongside compatriot Juan Mata and Darren Fletcher.

United take on a Roma side who finished second to Juventus in last season’s Serie A title race and opened their tour of the USA with a narrow 1-0 victory over Liverpool.

Daniel Agger’s late own goal was the difference between the teams at a packed Fenway Park in Boston, but it was a morale boosting win nonetheless.
