PSG is on the verge of sacking Mauricio Pochettino

It’s been an eventful summer at PSG with the Kylian Mpabbe saga finally coming to an end. But it looks like it’s going to be another eventful week, as it’s been reported that Mauricio Pochettino will be fired in the next few days.

The Argentine has only had one full season at the club and guided the club to a comfortable Ligue 1 title success. However, it’s the team’s disappointing exit from this season’s Champions League, which looks to have cost Pochettino his job.

Ligue 1 success is the bare minimum that the PSG board expects with the Champions League being the one trophy the PSG board craves above all else.

Despite losing to eventual champions Real Madrid, a last 16 exit simply isn’t good enough for a club that boasts the talent that PSG has in its squad.

The speculation surrounding Pochettino’s future has been ongoing for weeks, and clubs in both England and Spain have reportedly lined up the popular Argentine to be their team’s next manager.

Rumours are rife as to who will replace Pochettino, with Roma boss Jose Mourinho the current bookmakers’ favorite.
