Rodrgyo double helps secure Real Madrid La Liga title

Published on

A first half double from Brazilian forward Rodrygo helped secure the win Real Madrid needed to seal another La Liga title as Real thrashed Espanyol 4-0.

The win capped off what’s been a great season so far for Madrid who will be hoping that they can add to their latest title victory with a return to the Champions League final when they welcome Manchester City later this week.

Rodrygo helped ease any nerves with the first of his two goals coming in the 33rd minute, the champagne was then put on ice when he netted his second just ten minutes later.

Since making his move from Santos in 2019 it hasn’t been plain sailing for the young Brazilian who has found the net on just three occasions all season.

Mainly used as a sub, Rodrygo will hope this could be the start of better things to come, but with Karim Benzema still in fine form and Kylian Mpabbe rumored to be joining in the summer, Rodrygo may find his first team prospects limited next season.

For now, Rodrygo will be hoping this can provide a spark for bigger and better things to come.
