Savvy Palmeiras Could Net $4 Million Cash Bonanza if Manchester City Sell Gabriel Jesus

Palmeiras Could Net $4 Million Thanks to Gabriel Jesus Sell-On Clause

Forward-thinking Palmeiras chiefs could net their club as much as $4 million in the European transfer window as speculation mounts as to the future of Gabriel Jesus at Manchester City.

The current English Premier League signings have announced the signing of Erling Haaland from the German side Borussia Dortmund, and that’s a move that will likely force Jesus down the pecking order in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The Brazilian has been linked with a move elsewhere, with Arsenal rumoured to be a potential destination, and that could be good news for Palmeiras.

Any transfer involving Jesus would see the Verdão net a 5% cash bonanza courtesy of the sell-on fee in the 25-year-old’s contract, and that – allied to a 2% ‘solidarity payment’ – could see as much as $4 million paid to Palmeiras if the striker commands a bounty of around $55
million as expected.

Jesus made 67 appearances for Palmeiras between 2015 and 2017, netting 21 goals and helping them to the Brasileiro Série A title and the Copa do Brasil trophy.
