For a long time, the vacant Manchester United job was believed to be between two men, Mauricio Pochettino and Erik Ten Haag. It was officially announced this week that it was Ten Haag who had got the job.
With Pochettino missing out on the Utd job that leaves the popular Argentine in a potential state of flux.
Despite his PSG team being on the cusp of winning this season’s Ligue 1 title, it is widely believed that due to PSG’s poor performance in the Champions League that Pochettino will be shown the exit door once the season concludes.
PSG reportedly have a host of managers lined up to replace Pochettino with the most popular names being Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte.
Zidane would be the obvious popular choice given his credentials with both France and Real Madrid, but Conte has shown with Tottenham what a good coach he is.
One option we could see this summer is the potential return to Tottenham for Pochettino. If PSG does lure Conte away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that a return to Tottenham for Pochettino would be out of the question.
Much remains to be seen this summer, but we could be on the cusp of a managerial merry-go-round.
