One of the hottest young talents in world football has committed his immediate future to Brasileiro Série A, but for how long?
Eldrick has been attracting interest from suitors all around the globe, but he has put an end to speculation linking him with a move by signing his first-ever senior contract with Palmeiras, which will run until 2025.
It prevents the 15-year-old from being snapped up for a small fee as an uncontracted star, however, the Verdão are already planning for the future by implementing a $63 million release clause into the deal – a price that would make him the most expensive export in Brasileiro Série A history.
The youngster is yet to make his first-team debut for Palmeiras, although he has been a prolific goalscorer at each of the various youth levels and has notched five goals in four games for the Brazilian Under-16s.
His trajectory is similar to that of Vinícius Júnior, who made his Flamengo debut aged 16 before his $47 million release clause was activated by Real Madrid in 2017.
