Andy Murray begins the clay court season looking for some form and he could do with repeating last year’s run to the semi-finals where he produced a very respectable performance against Rafael Nadal.

Murray has insisted in interviews leading up to this tournament that he is more focused and happier than he was in the States during the Indian Wells and Miami tournaments, which bodes well for the world number four.

However he should be able to outlast the German for consistency and with Kohlschreiber’s serve not particularly effective on the clay, Murray’s returning ability should give him a strong advantage.
