Brazilian Oliveira hopes to reclaim title in his home country this year

Oliveira wants to fight in Brazil

Brazilian warrior Charles Oliveira is hoping to regain the title he lost to the scales before the main event of UFC 274 as he eyes a titular showdown in Brazil later this year.

It can be recalled that Oliveira came into fight week as the UFC lightweight champion but was later stripped of the title after failing to make weight.

Nevertheless, he put up a strong performance in the main event of UFC 274, wherein he obliterated Gaethje to become the top contender for the title.

Speaking to reporters during the UFC 274 post-fight press conference, Oliveira said that he plans to return to the eight-sided cage at the end of this year in Brazil.

“Basically, we are going to do what we have done in the recent past. We want to fight in December. However, we’re going to rest a little bit and then we’ll continue with the same schedule. I think that’s the best thing to do. And, by the way, it’s going to be Brazil,” Oliveira said.

It will be the first UFC event in Brazil in more than two years if it pushes through.
