Argentinian Volleyball Championship Review

Published on

After winning their ninth national title, UPCN San Juan were crowned champion of the men’s Argentine Volleyball League (LVA), becoming Argentina’s most successful men’s volleyball team. The club has passed Bolivar, who had previously won the most championships.

Fabian Armoa’s squad used the excitement of the 3,000 supporters that filled their newly-opened stadium in San Juan to overcome Ciudad Voley 3-1 (25-21, 26-24, 17-25, 27-25) and win the Argentine League’s best-of-five final series three wins to one. The club has won nine of the tournament’s last eleven editions.

This was a rematch of last season’s final, in which UPCN triumphed again. Last November, the two teams clashed in the final of the Argentine Cup, but Ciudad came out on top. UPCN dominated the Argentine League’s Dream Team again, with four players selected. Will UPCN continue their dominance next season, or can someone derail them?
