Preview:

The Pool C rematch between Canada and Argentina will take place at the Scotiabank Center in Halifax tonight.

Getting another win over Argentina is Canada’s aim when they face off later today.

Led by Gavin Schmitt, the North Americans posted a 25-21 27-25 25-19 victory yesterday to remain at the top of Pool C with 13 points on a 4-1 record.

The Alberta native fired 22 points with 19 spikes, two aces and a block.

Despite his dominant performance, Schmitt expects a better performance from Argentina in their rematch.

“It took us a while to catch up to their speed and style of play, but I think we can do a lot better job. I think they will come back even better tomorrow, so we have to be very focused,” he said.

Nicolas Bruno paced Argentina 12 points. Pablo Crer added 11 points while Luciano Zornetta had 10 for the South Americans (1-2), who remained in third place with four points.
