Hernan Ferraro to lead Argentina to France

Published on

Hernan Ferraro, 53, who was appointed head coach of the Argentinian Women’s national side in December 2018, will continue to serve until the end of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Las Panteras finished 11th in last year’s Tokyo Olympics, their second appearance at the Games under Ferraro’s tutelage. He also steered the squad to a tenth-place finish at the 2019 FIVB World Cup and was in charge when the country earned its first Pan-American Games women’s medal, a bronze, in 2019.

The number of young women that play volleyball in Argentina, their desire to be a part of the national team, and the hard effort that so many coaches put in to improve women’s volleyball in the country inspire Ferraro. As a result, he stated that, “we now have a program that allows us to travel to every area of Argentina and get closer to these young athletes.” He hopes that increased interest in the sport will help strengthen the league going forward.
