Volleyball World Kusadasi Challenge – Men’s Update

Published on

Play is underway in the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Kusadasi Challenge. Let’s check-in and see how the men’s side of the tournament is going.

Mexico’s Juan Virgen and Miguel Sarabia put up a strong showing in their preliminary round matchup against Necmi Gulluk and Batuhan Kuru, dominating the Turks in straight sets 21-8 and 21-11. Unfortunately for the Mexican squad, they lost their second-round matchup against Julian Hörl and Alexander Horst of Austria 15-21, 17-21.

Virgen and Sarabia are the only Latin American squad to see action thus far in the tournament, but they aren’t the region’s only entries. Yet to compete are Brazil’s Evandro Gonclaves and Alvaro Filho. Chile’s Marco and Esteban Grimalt are also slated to play in the tournament.

The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Kusadasi Challenge is scheduled to run all weekend long with gold medal matches on Sunday. Volleyball fans can watch live matches on VBTV, and follow live scores on the official Volleyball World website.
