Man Utd To Sign Henriquez And Buttner With Herrera Also On Mufc Radar

Manchester United are set to complete deals for Angelo Henriquez as well as Alexander Buttner, and have also asked about Pachuca midfielder Hector Herrera.

Universidad de Chile have confirmed that Henriquez is on his way to Old Trafford in a deal worth around £3.5million, with the 18-year-old striker passing a medical with the Red Devils last week.

Vitesse defender Buttner on Tuesday completed his move to Manchester, agreeing a five-year deal.

But the sporting director of Mexican side Pachuca has claimed United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is also keen on signing highly-rated midfielder Herrera.

“It’s an official interest,” Andres Fassi told ESPN Deportes.

“We already have the document, but there is nothing more than that.”

Buttner had been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks including Fulham, QPR, and newly-promoted Southampton, but passed a medical at the weekend after the £4million-rated left-back emerged as a surprise target.

United’s move for Buttner came after the club cooled their interest in Leighton Baines due to Everton’s £17m asking price.

“This is really a dream come true,” said Buttner before undergoing his medical.

“It was all arranged very quickly and of course I am very delighted. Happily everything is coming to an end.”

Henriquez is viewed as one for the future but insists he is joining the Premier League giants to play immediately.

“If I go Manchester United it is to play,” the teenager told El Mercurio.

“The team will be involved in several competitions, so I have the opportunity to get minutes on the pitch with the first team.

“I have spoken to Alex Ferguson and he said that I would be under consideration this season. That excites me.

“I know that I will have a very difficult task because there are players in the team like Rooney, Van Persie and Chicharito, but I couldn’t let this chance go by.”
