Rickie Lambert Leaves Liverpool Fc For West Brom

Rickie Lambert has completed a move to West Brom, leaving boyhood club Liverpool after just one year.

The striker has signed a two-year deal at the Hawthorns and moves for an undisclosed fee.

New manager Tony Pulis was full of praise for his new signing, telling the club’s official website: “Rickie is a good, strong, solid player who is a great character, good in the dressing room and good on the pitch.

“We are very pleased to have him on board. He’s a player of great pedigree and we look forward to integrating him into our squad.”

It brings to an end a disappointing time at Anfield for Lambert. Born on Merseyside, he joined Liverpool as a youngster but was released at the age of 15.

However, after a successful move up through the divisions culminating in a spell at Southampton, he rejoined the Anfield club last summer.
He described it as a dream move but failed to make an impact back on Merseyside, making just seven starts for Brendan Rodgers side and, with Christian Benteke having joined this summer, Lambert was expected to be deemed surplus to requirements for the forthcoming campaign.
