Novak Djokovic remains world number one in the latest ATP tennis rankings, ahead of Roger Federer, Andy Murray, and Stan Wawrinka.
World number three Murray took Great Britain through to a first Davis Cup final since 1978 on Sunday with a win over Australia’s Bernard Tomic.

The British number one secured his third point of the match, and an unassailable 3-1 lead, with a comprehensive 7-5 6-3 6-2 victory in Glasgow.

Great Britain, who last won the Davis Cup in 1936, will now face Belgium away in November’s final.

“Winning for your country and your team-mates means such a lot,” Murray told the BBC.

“The crowd were unbelievable from the first ball to the last. I didn’t feel great the whole weekend to be honest. I’ve been struggling with my back, but I just tried to disguise it.”

Meanwhile, Murray is set to miss this year’s World Tour Finals if, as expected, Belgium decide to host the Davis Cup final on clay.

The World Tour Finals, which take place at London’s O2 Arena – on a hard court – finish on November 22nd, five days before the Davis Cup final starts.

“The O2 would obviously be a question mark for me if we were playing on the clay,” Murray admitted to BBC Radio 5 live.

“I would go and train and prepare on the clay to get ready for the final.

“You saw last year with Roger Federer that the matches at the O2 are extremely tough and physically demanding.

“If you reach the final and play on the Sunday you also need to take time off – you can’t just play five matches against the best players in the world and then not take any days off.”

Bernard Tomic is the only climber in this week’s Top 20.
