Peruvian badminton twins Fernanda and Rafaela Munar put up a strong performance on Monday as they grabbed the silver medal in the doubles category of the Iberdrola Junior Spanish 2022 tournament in Spain.
Fernanda and Rafaela displayed sterling performances throughout the tournament beating the likes of Portugal and Spain. The silver medal win comes on the heels of winning the gold and silver medals at the recently-concluded Rosario 2022 South American Youth Games in Argentina.
The sensational South American racquet-wielders had a chance to bag the gold medal in the tournament but they were unable to upset the top-ranked Spanish duo of Iberian Carulla and Rodriguez, losing in heartbreaking fashion 16-21, 18-21.
Up next for the twins is the Croatian Junior International which kicks off this June 16. They will be returning to Lima after the Croatian tournament as the Munar siblings prepare for the Junior Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic this July.
