Bigua gets an inch closer to the LUB title

Bigua took a crucial 2-0 lead in the Uruguayan Basketball Finals against Penarol after defeating them on the road, 92-107. This was yet another occasion when the 2nd-seeded team surpassed the 100-point mark, while their opponents haven’t been able to do that throughout the whole campaign. Bigua entered Game 2 in high fashion as they took a demanding 14-point lead after the first quarter. They kept this advantage throughout the match, which gave them the much-needed second win in the series.

The American duo for Bigua, Donald Sims, and Victor Rudd were unstoppable as they combined for 46 points on Monday. However, they weren’t even the highest scorer for their team for the night as Diego Pena dropped 25 points on 8-9 shooting from the field, scoring 7 out of 8 attempted 3-pointers. Their overall success from beyond the arc is what made the difference in the game and got them the 2-0 lead in the series. Lee Roberts finished off with 25 points and 15 rebounds for Penarol, but his effort came up quite short as his teammates weren’t able to keep up with their opponents.
