Cariduros and Humacao extend win streaks in BSN

Cariduros and Humacao sustain winning momentums

Cariduros de Fajardo and Grises de Humacao stayed hot as they defeated respective opponents on Sunday to extend their winning run in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN).

Versatile forward Emmy Andjúar delivered the goods at crunch time tallying 20 points and 10 rebounds to help Cariduros escape the Carolina Giants 84-81 in overtime at the lively Tomás Dones Coliseum.

American reinforcement Earl Clark added 19 points for the team from Fajardo, which now leads Section B following victories against Santurce and Bayamon.

Meanwhile, Humacao relied on the scoring exploits of veteran shooting guard Gabriel Belardo to pick up a dominant 93-82 win over San Germán Athletics at the Marcelo Trujillo Panisse Coliseum.

Belardo exploded for 19 points and eight assists while De’Quon Lake contributed 17 markers for Humacao to offset a hot night from José Rodríguez, who spearheaded San Germán’s attack with 20 points on 2/3 shooting from the three-point range.

This was the second win in a row for Humacao after pulling off an 85-82 upset victory over the defending champions Capitanes de Arecibo last Thursday.
