Franca bounces back against Sao Paulo in Game 3

The top-seeded team in the 2022 NBB Playoffs, Franca, took a decisive lead in the series in the Semi-Finals against Sao Paulo. They dismantled their opponents after taking a 25-point advantage halfway through the third quarter. The away side released the pressure towards the end of the game, allowing Sao Paulo to cut the deficit for the final score, 65-78.

Despite losing their previous encounter in Ginasio do Morumbi, Franca came in prepared this time as David Jackson dropped 20 points for the win, while Lucas Mariano drained a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Vieira Marquinhos can be blamed for the huge loss of his team following his 0-9 performance from the field. He ended up having just 2 points from the free-throw line for 28 minutes on the court on Monday. Additionally, Tyrone Curnell and Bruno Caboclo struggled from the 3-point line.

The series continues with a game in Franca as the top-seeded team can seal the deal and reach the Finals for the third time in their history. However, Sao Paulo has shown their improvement towards the end of the season, winning the Champions League Americas in April with a win over the Uruguayan Bigua.
