Goes ties the series against Aguada in a dramatic way

Goes ties the series against Aguada

The top-seeded team in the Liga Uruguaya Play-Offs, Goes, avoided a huge upset as they were on the verge of elimination after being down 2-1 in the series against Aguada. They have been struggling against their for-and-coming 8th-seeded opponent which looked to be in better shape towards the end of the regular season. Aguada should have finished the season in 5th place, but they had 4 points deducted from their overall score as a federation decision.

The 38-year-old, Al Thornton, led the way for Aguada in Game 4 with 21 points and 7 rebounds, while Joaquin Osimani bounced back with 18 points for Goes’ final victory. Nestor Colmenares and Giorgetti Franco added 16 points each, which was more than enough for the close win in the end, 66-68. The series goes back to Palacio Penarol in Montevideo, where Goes will try to get things done in front of their home crowd. The winner of this tie will go to the Semi-Finals facing off against Penarol, who defeated Malvin in a tight battle.
