CIBACOPA: Stevens’ 22 leads Pioneros comeback

American sharpshooting guard Jordan Stevens put up a strong showing as he led the team with 22 big points, while Quintin Alexander and Decensea White contributed 20 points each, respectively.

Down by 17 points, Los Mochis banked on the heroics of Runnels and White to close the gap to seven, 73-66 heading into the final quarter.

The offensive trio of Stevens, White, and Alexander continued their scoring onslaught in the fourth as they spearheaded a 27-16 run that helped Los Mochis to improve to second in the standings with a 4-2 (win-loss) card, behind Astros de Jalisco.

Joshua Ramirez was the top scorer for the losing side with 21 points, while American forward Marlon Stewart added 20 for Venados who remained at the fifth spot with a 3-3 mark.

Los Mochis hopes to continue its momentum as it heads back home against the Caballeros de Cullicán on Tuesday, while Mazatlan battles the Zonkeys of Tijuana.
