Quebradillas beats Humacao in overtime

Former NBA player Thomas Robinson spearheaded the Piratas’ attack with 27 points and nine rebounds, while Phillip Wheeler added 15 markers as they improved to a league-leading 2-0 (win-loss) card in the season.

Humacao started the match strong with the exploits of Terry Larrier and Nathaniel Butler, taking a 24-18 lead after the first quarter. However, Quebradillas were able to pull off some stops, even cutting the lead to as little as three 59-56 before heading into the fourth.

The road team used a 15-12 run in the final canto, punctuated by a game-tying three by Carlos Emory that sent the game into overtime. Nevertheless, Quebradillas managed to hold off a strong stand from Humacao as they dominated the overtime by outscoring the home team 9-2 to secure the victory.

Reinforcement Terry Larrier was the top scorer for Humacao with 30 points while Jorge Matos had a strong showing in his debut with 11 markers.
