San Martin save the series in Game 3

San Martin force Game 4

After losing the opening two games in their series against Instituto de Cordoba, San Martin outclassed their opponents in Game 3 to force yet another match at home. They went on a 32-6 run in the second quarter, which was more than enough for them to seal the deal on Thursday night in Corrientes. San Martin finished off in high fashion after increasing the lead to 30 points in the end for the final score, 97-67.

Rolando Vallejos dropped 20 points on a fantastic 6-7 shooting from deep, while Fabian Ramirez was also efficient from the field, ending up with 18 points on 75% accuracy. Despite the decent performance from Gallizi, Gonzalez, and Whelan, Instituto de Cordoba had zero to no chance against the high-level performance from San Martin. Martin Cuello, Matteo Chiarini, and Nicolas Romano might take the blame for the loss as they barely made any shots in Game 3.

Despite their overall standings from the Regular Season, San Martin shouldn’t be underestimated as they managed to upset the second-seeded Gimnasia in four games. However, Instituto de Cordoba remains the favorite to fight for the Liga A title against Quimsa or Boca Juniors in the Grand Final.
