Jabari Smith seems to be a bit of an anomaly in this year’s draft. It’s incredibly hard to find a big man at his age that is so proficient in shooting the ball, which is why we believe that Smith will get selected with one of the first picks in the draft. He managed to shoot 42% from three, showing NBA teams that he is a much-needed player for their squads. Standing at 6-10, Smith needs to hone in on his other skills however to have a successful career in the NBA such as his ball handling. Sometimes Smith will appear to chuck up shots but in the NBA he will be able to work on his shot creation due to the next level coaching he will receive.
Smith put up impressive numbers for Auburn as a freshman achieving 16.9 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 2 APG showing that at a young age he is able to perform amongst older players. It’s likely Smith will go to a team that needs a bit of aid on the scoring side, many think he would fit well with the Orlando Magic who are projected a high pick for this year’s draft and have lacked on the offensive side in recent years.
