Sheldon McClellan wins the Player of the Week award

The former Washington Wizards player, Sheldon McClellan, continued with his mission to help his team, Gigantes de Carolina, reach the Playoffs in the Puerto Rican Basketball League. He was part of the NBA in 2016/17 when he played in 37 matches for the Wizards, but his lack of minutes on the court didn’t let him show his best in Capital One Arena. However, after a couple of years in the NBA G League, he decided to try his luck in the BSN when he signed with San German and is now part of the struggling Gigantes de Carolina. The 29-year-old guard erupted with two 30-point games in his first three appearances for his new team.

This was more than enough for him to claim the Hoops Agents Player of the Week Award for week 11. His immense effort helped Gigantes claim their second and third victory for the season, improving to a 3-10 record. Sheldon McClellan averages 27.8 points per game this year as this is by far the best performance in the BSN. Besides him, the team from Carolina can use the services of another former NBA player, Tremont Waters, who played for the Boston Celtics between 2019 and 2021.
