Perez confesses he had no answer to Ferrari

Perez, who crossed 20 seconds behind Leclerc at the end of 58 laps of racing, believes that Ferrari has been a cut above the rest of the competition this year. In the post-race analysis, he told reporters;

“I think Ferrari was super strong. We couldn’t match them at any point. I think it’s the first weekend that they were a step ahead. We’ve been really close in qualifying, I felt like we were a bit closer than we showed. But, they went on another level”

Perez, who finds himself the leading Red Bull driver after three races this year, currently sits at fourth in the championship with 30 points. Leclerc leads the standings with 71 while George Russell and Carlos Sainz are trailing with 37 and 33 points respectively.

The 32-year old Red Bull daredevil has a chance to close the gap next week as Formula 1 heads to Italy for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on April 24th.
