Roma sign Paulo Dybala

Jose Mourinho has got his man – as free agent Paulo Dybala has signed for Roma.

Having left Juventus following the expiration of his contract, Dybala will make the move to the capital on a three-year deal.

At just 28, Dybala should still have plenty to offer at the top level, and he will hope to help his new side qualify for next year’s Champions League.

For so long it looked likely that Dybala would end up signing for Inter Milan. However, the signing of Romelu Lukaku on loan and Dybala’s wage demands meant a move to Inter just wasn’t financially possible.

With potential rumoured interest from the Premier League with Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham all keen to bring the Argentine to their respective clubs, it was Roma that moved fastest to get their man.

Dybala will add competition to an already talented front line that includes the likes of Tammy Abraham, Lorenzo Pelegrini and Nicolo Zainolo.

Dybala has scored 98 Serie A goals in his career and will hope to bring up his century quickly with his new team.

He will also be hoping to significantly add to his tally of three international goals for Argentina at this year’s World Cup.
