Lindor, Ramirez named MLB Players of the Week for their respective conferences

Following their impressive performances, Latin American All-Stars Jose Ramirez of the Cleveland Guardians and Francisco Lindor of the New York Mets have been named American League and National League Players of the Week.

The 29-year-old Ramirez grabbed his sixth career AL Player of the Week honors and his second of the current season, with his most recent recognition coming last April 17.

He also becomes the first Major Leaguer to receive such recognition multiple times and the last position player to win Cleveland since Edwin Encarnacion did it in June 2018.

Not to be outdone was the 28-year-old Lindor who bagged his third career Player of the Week award to become the first Mets winner since Noah Syndergaard in August 2019.

Across six games last week, the Puerto Rican star posted an impressive slash line of .348/.407/.870 to go along with 10 runs, eight hits, two doubles, two triples, two home runs, 14 RBI, and a stolen base.
