Nba Charlotte Likely To Host 2017 All Star Game

Charlotte will be considered to host the NBA All-Star Game in the near future.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver said the largest city in North Carolina is now qualified to host the annual event after local officials agreed to shoulder the expenses to renovate the Time Warner Cable Arena.“Personally I’m very excited about coming back here. I don’t think there’s any question it’s going to happen,” Silver said in an interview with the Charlotte Observer during his recent visit to the city where he met Hornets president Fred Whitfield and team owner Michael Jordan.

“We want to award them as early as possible so there would be maximum opportunity to plan.”

Charlotte is expected to host the 2017 or 2018 NBA All-Star Game.

The city hosted the 1991 All-Star Weekend at the old Charlotte Coliseum, which was demolished in 2007.

New York and Brooklyn will co-host the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend while Toronto will stage the annual extravaganza in 2016.
