Boca Juniors and Racing Club Progress to Copa de la Liga Profesional Semi-Finals

Boca and Racing Reach Copa de la Liga Profesional Last Four

Boca Juniors and Racing Club have booked their places in the semi-finals of the Copa de la Liga Profesional after comfortable victories in the last eight.

Xeneizes found Defensa y Justicia a tough nut to crack at La Bombonera, as the visitors maintained their impressive form from their Argentina Primera División campaign.

Guillermo Fernandez thought he’d put the hosts ahead in the 34th minute, but his strike was chalked off when the video replay confirmed he had committed a foul in the build-up to the ‘goal’.

Boca continued to press forward for the opener, and they eventually got their reward on the stroke of half-time courtesy of Sebastian Villa’s cool finish.

Defensa fought hard to force their way back into the contest in the second period, but it was Boca who would secure their semi-final place courtesy of Juan Ramirez’s goal.

Meanwhile, last year’s beaten Copa de la Liga Profesional finalists Racing Club thrashed Aldosivi 5-0, with Carlos Alcaraz and Enzo Copetti both netting a brace of goals.
