Could Luis Suarez be heading back to the Premier League?

Suarez could be set for Gerrard reunion

Luis Suarez’s time at Atletico Madrid looks set to be coming to an end with the club unwilling to offer the Uruguayan a new contract.

Suarez’s two-year spell with Atletico has to be considered a success with the veteran front man scoring 34 goals for the club.

Now at 35, Suarez still feels he has something to give and a move to Aston Villa on a free transfer is a move that he hasn’t ruled out.

Suarez was a teammate of current Aston Villa boss Stephen Gerrard with the two sharing the same dressing room for three and a half seasons when he used to play for Liverpool.

Gerrard in interviews has always been quick to state what a great player Suarez was, naming the Uruguayan as one of the best he has ever played alongside with.

Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings are the striking options that Gerrard can currently call upon. Whilst it would be hard to see Suarez starting in front of either player at this stage in his career he certainly would add calmness and composure that the duo are currently lacking.

Suarez was one of the best foreign imports to ever play in the Premier League. Across his three and a half year spell with Liverpool Suarez scored 69 Premier League goals.
