Inter Milan keep tabs with leaders thanks to Martinez and Sanchez

The race for this year’s Serie A continues to hot up as Inter Milan was able to keep pace with those at the top end of the table thanks to a 3-1 win away at Spezia.

The Italian title race looks set to go down right to the wire with AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Napoli all having a chance of lifting the title.

Much is being made about the future of star Inter forward Lautoro Martinez. With Inter reportedly still struggling financially it has been rumored that the Italian club will need to sell Martinez this summer to balance the books. There is much interest in Martinez with both Atletico Madrid and Tottenham potential suitors.

Despite not starting the game Martinez showed his worth to this Inter team by netting the all-important second goal against Spezia. Despite having a stop-start season the goal was Martinez’s 15th of the season.

Spezia made the game interesting by pulling a goal back to make it 2-1. However, the game was put to bed by Alexis Sanchez who scored with his 4th of the campaign following an assist by Martinez.

At just 24 Martinez is nowhere near the finished article, he will come at a price but wherever Martinez plays his football next season a club will be getting a prestigious talent.
