Brazil learn World Cup fate

Brazil learn World Cup fate

Brazil will head to Qatar this winter as the prohibitive World Cup favourites. Brazil, who are looking to win the World Cup for the first time since 2002, now know who they will face in the group stage.

Placed in Pot 1 of the draw, Brazil knew they would avoid the majority of the world’s best teams. However, there were still some quality sides such as Germany and Croatia that could have been possible opponents.

The draw turned out to be kind as Brazil will face Switzerland, Serbia and African champions Senegal in Group G. No match at a World Cup can be classed as easy but the Brazilians will fancy their chances of progression.

It’s difficult not to look far ahead and Brazil’s route to the final looks tricky. A mouthwatering last sixteen clash against the likes of Uruguay or Portugal could await, before a potential quarter final against Spain. In the semi-finals, it could be a colossal match against England or France. If they make the final it could be against Argentina or Germany.

If Brazil are to win another World Cup it will have to be earned the hard way.
