Asmir Begovic wants to secure Man Utd move – report

Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who has been linked with Manchester United, reportedly wants to secure a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Begovic has in recent weeks emerged as a transfer target for Premier League leaders United as Sir Alex Ferguson considers offloading David De Gea, who has been linked with a return to Spain.

Last week it was reported that Begovic, who has been monitored by Arsenal and Liverpool, was on Manchester City’s radar as manager Roberto Mancini looks to bring in competition for Joe Hart.

But according to the Sunday Mirror, the 25-year-old would prefer to move to the red half of Manchester should the Premier League leaders firm up their interest.

Begovic recently told Sky Sports News of the interest being shown in him from United: “It’s very flattering. It’s positive feedback from other teams that people are looking at you and mentioning you with those teams.

“It’s no secret that everyone has their own ambitions and they want to be playing at the highest level possible.”

De Gea has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent weeks.
