Man Utd Target Wesley Sneijder Axed By Inter Milan Over Contract Stand Off

Wesley Sneijder, who in recent days has once again been linked with a move to Manchester United, has been told he will not play for Inter Milan again until he makes a decision about his future at the club.

Sneijder has been constantly linked with a move to the Premier League over the past couple of seasons, with a move to Man Utd believed to have come close in summer 2011.

Reports in the Dutch media last week suggested Inter could be ready to offload the Netherlands international as soon as January due to budget concerns at the club, and that has led to renewed speculation about a move to Old Trafford.

Big-spending Russians Anzhi Makhachkala are also interested in signing the former Real Madrid midfielder (see Related Articles), and Inter director Marco Branca has revealed Sneijder will be left on the bench until a decision about his future is made.

“We need to modify his current contract,” Branca told Sky Italia.

“He and his entourage have to decide what they want to do about our proposal.

“Sneijder will not play until he makes a decision about his contract.”

Inter also have banned the 28-year-old from using Twitter, according to his wife.

The player is not believed to have been involved in any controversy on the social networking website, but Yolanthe Sneijder-Cabau recently tweeted: “My husband, @sneijder101010, can no longer write on Twitter.

“It is a decision from the club. They said he cannot even support or compliment the team. I am sad because he always gives his best for the team with all of his heart.

“It is odd, but it is okay. You will all see how Wesley will return to winning ways with Inter.”
