Plaza Amador win the local derby against Tauro

Plaza Amador 1-0 Tauro

Plaza Amador put in an impressive performance in their 1-0 win against local rivals Tauro. The win for the ‘Placino’ moved them into contention for the playoffs and are now just behind the ‘Taurino’ team.

The home team put the visitors under pressure from the start of the match and they were rewarded when they took the lead in the 23rd minute through an unbelievable goal from Ángel Orillen. It proved to be the only goal of the game but it was a goal to remember as Orillen scored from the halfway line, with Tauro’s goalkeeper Eric Hughes unable to prevent it going in.

The defeat means Amador have pulled closer to Tauro in the league table and hope to put the pressure on with two matches remaining in the regular phase.

Next match, Tauro will host Costa del Este, while Plaza Amador will visit Árabe Unido. It seems the battle between the rivals will continue for a few more weeks for the last place in the play-offs.
