Premier League – Southampton FC vs. Manchester United kick-off time

Southampton vs. Man Utd takes place this afternoon in the Premier League.

The game, which takes place at St Mary’s, is scheduled to kick off at 16:00 BST and airs live in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports 1/Sky Sports 1 HD and online (see here).

Speaking ahead of the game, Southampton head coach Ronald Koeman has suggested that he is set to recall Sadio Mane for the visit of Louis van Gaal’s side.

The 23-year-old Senegal international was used from the substitutes bench during the goalless draw at West Brom last time out, but Koeman says that that was due to concerns about the distance Mane had travelled while on international duty.

It had been suggested that it was because Mane was linked with a move away from the Saints before the transfer window shut, but Koeman insists that that had nothing to do with his decision.

He told reporters ahead of the visit of United to St Mary’s: “The reason Sadio didn’t start last week was not about rumours during the transfer window.

“It was all about he was travelling a lot and he came back Thursday evening and in my opinion was not fresh enough to start in the beginning.”

Meanwhile, Koeman is hoping to have both left-back Ryan Bertrand and midfielder Jordy Clasie back and available for selection in the next couple of weeks.

He added on the club’s official website: “The planning for Ryan Bertrand will be that he plays his first 60 minutes on Monday with the Under-21s.

“Jordy is not as close like Ryan. He will start training with the team from Monday on and maybe takes one week longer.”
