Gabriel Jesus: A wanted striker

Gabriel Jesus: A wanted striker

Despite winning a 4th Premier League title with Manchester City, it looks like Gabriel Jesus will have a new club next season.

With the arrival of the striking duo of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, Jesus looks surplus to requirements. Despite being one of the richest clubs in the world, City do operate sensibly and know that the departure of Jesus will see them recoup most of the fee they will spend on Haaland.

Jesus has been attracting plenty of attention within the Premier League and it’s been reported that Arsenal are exceptionally keen on landing the Brazilian. With the January departure of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and with both Alexandre Lacazzette and Eddie Nkietiah likely to leave for free this summer, the Gunners are in desperate need of striking reinforcements.

But according to reports, the race for Jesus’ signature has a new entrant in the form of Arsenal’s bitter rivals Tottenham. Tottenham can offer something their rivals can’t and that is the lure of Champions League football.

Jesus who has been reduced to a bench role over the past few seasons may struggle to see where he would fit into a Spurs front three that can boast Harry Kane, Son and Dejan Kulusevski. Whereas if he signed with Arsenal there is a huge chance, he would be their leading man.

A fascinating transfer battle awaits.
