WSL – Signe Bruun, Jade Moore, Diane Caldwell Sign with Manchester United

The Manchester United women’s team made some major waves, making multiple additions to the squad in the January window. Teams rarely make multiple significant moves in the mid-season window. United, though, looking to bolster their squad, did just that in the hope of competing for a league title.

The most significant signing of the three is Digne Bruun, and she is probably the most significant signing in the entire WSL. Bruun was pivotal in helping Paris-Saint Germain win a title last season. The hope of Manchester United fans is that she can do the same for them.

Bruun was quoted saying, “It’s amazing to be here; I’m really happy to be joining Manchester United. It is a big club with a huge history… I think this move was a perfect match for me”.

Bruun has also had significant success in the international game for Denmark. In just 19 caps, she has scored an incredible 14 goals while also being named the Denmark Player of the Year in 2021.

Manchester United manager Mark Skinner was obviously excited, saying, “We are delighted to welcome Signe to the club, she is an exceptional player, and it really shows the ambition of the club in securing this move”.

The additional signings of Caldwell and Moore will add depth for United on Defense and in the Midfield from two experienced players. Both players in their early 30 are experienced, having played around the world and for their national teams. While neither comes with the excitement of the Bruun move, they could each play significant roles.
