Andy Murray vs Juan Ignacio Chela Preview – Second round action from 2010 Roland Garros

Murray will be looking to build on his first round efforts.

Andy Murray played the match of the tournament on the men’s side of the draw so far this year from Roland Garros 2010 and the French Open.

On Monday against Richard Gasquet Murray was two sets and a break down but battled back to clinch a 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1 victory in just over four hours.

Gasquet had been on top form heading into Roland Garros, but having won two tournaments on the bounce was in need of a rest.

Murray should be able to put the first round scare behind him on May 26th when he faces Juan Ignacio Chela. Although Chela is a capable player, Murray has won his last five matches against him, two of which were on clay. Tellingly, Murray met Chela recently in the Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open, where the Scotsman won comfortably in straight sets (6-3, 6-3).

This match gives Murray a chance to find his feet in time for the latter stages, though Chela should not be entirely dismissed. However, following Monday’s performance Murray will be out to make a point today, and should probably win in straight sets.
