Ortega, Rodriguez meet in exciting featherweight clash this July

Former title challenger Brian Ortega will look to put his name back in the title picture as he takes on Mexican cage warrior Yair Rodriguez in the main event of UFC Fight Night on July 16 in Long Island, New York.

The 31-year-old Ortega, who is currently ranked fourth in the world, is coming off a loss to Alexander Volkanovski in a featherweight title fight last September at UFC 266.

Nevertheless, he has maintained his spot near the top of the rankings in the UFC with wins over Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson.

Ortega is expected to have his hands full against Rodriguez who recorded the latest KO/TKO wins in UFC history when he put Chan Sung Jung to sleep at 4:59 of the fifth round in November 2018.

Rodriguez who currently holds a record of 13-3 (win-loss) with one no-contest had a three-fight unbeaten streak, which was broken by former champ Max Holloway last November in an action-packed Fight of the Night clash.

The card will take place at the UBS Arena on Long Island with more fights expected to be added in the later weeks.
